d'Art Richard
Clarinet
d'Art has been an active musician on clarinet since his time in high school, having performed under the baton of such esteemed conductors as Dr. Jay Gephart, Dr. Emily Threinen, Col. Jason Fettig, the late Dr. Robert Carnochan, and more. He is also an active solo performer and is always looking for more opportunities to share his playing. He was a member of numerous instrumental ensembles at Radford University, playing clarinets from Eb sopranino to Bb contrabass and everything in-between. During his time at Radford, he was also a member of Appalachia: A Southeast Wind Symphony. During his undergraduate degree, he successfully auditioned for the Department of Music's Honors Recital twice, on clarinet and bass clarinet. He has been a featured soloist with the University Choir, as well as with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble as the winner of Radford University's 9th Annual Concerto Competition. He has also performed with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, playing in place of their standing members when they are unable. He is currently a graduate student at Arizona State University studying under Dr. Joshua Gardner and Prof. Jeff Anderle. At ASU, he is a member of the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and multiple chamber ensembles.
